Join inspirational teacher Barbara Powell, affectionately known as Yoga Ma by her students, and Black Belt Nia instructor Kelle Rae Oien, who return to the Sayulita area for their popular retreat. Barbara and Kelle infuse their work with an ongoing inquiry into the wild force that runs through everything and everyone. They extend the challenge and invitation for us to live more of our lives with an awareness of this force - exploring it through the practice of yoga, and the healing and creative power of Nia. Alternating plenty of time for relaxation along with meditation, Nia, and yoga classes, guests can enjoy the myriad activities available in the area, or simply renew in the presence of the abundant prana offered by the sea. Volunteer service during your stay is also an option, in concert with the ongoing work of our hosts who use proceeds from their business to provide medical services for local townspeople.
Our retreat site is Mar de Jade Holistic Lifestyle Center: part retreat center, vacation spot, volunteer site and holistic healing sanctuary. Inspired over 25 years ago with a humanitarian vision, the spacious layout of Mar de Jade includes a Mediterranean - style main house, plus suites and guest rooms on a natural property where you'll find mango and papaya trees, and hammocks beneath the palms. The site is nestled at the base of an extinct volcano covered by lush tropical jungle, overlooking blue-green waters lapping gently at the golden shore.
